Monthly Announce List:

If you just want to hear from us only occasionally about the bare basics of what you will need to know, Then you can just sign up for the two basic announce list.

1) The first is the Jack Rabbit Speaks, AKA: "the JRS."

You will find a link to sign up for that here. http://www.burningman.com/blackrockcity_yearround/contacts/jrs_lists.html. The JRS is put out about once a month by the Burning Man staff as a way to keep you in the loop year round. As the event draws closer, be sure to pay close attention to JRS announcements regarding traffic, updates to the Survival Guide, and other information about Burning Man.

2) The second "must have" subscription is the San Diego Announce List.

Subscribers to the announce list will receive updates about related events within their local community. To subscribe to the announce list for the San Diego region, send a blank email to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Announce lists are not open discussion lists, therefore, all posts are routed through the Regional Contact.

Both of these list are VERY LOW traffic and usually only get one email a month.

 Discussion List:

If you would like to get more involved than just passively receiving monthly updates:

We have a very active online community that is spread out across, yahoogroups, Facebook, Tribe.net, E-Playa, and beyond.

The main clearing house for Burning Man related discussions is  sdburningman on Yahoo Groups. There is usually a lively discussion about what ever is on the communities mind, announcements about smaller gatherings, and keeping up with friends.

In addition to that list there is also SD Burners on Tribe.net, and many of us are also on Facebook

We welcome you to join us online to get in the loop. Lurking is discouraged so please at least say "hi", or introduce yourself with a bang! These message boards are public and open for discussion by all members. They can get to be high traffic sometimes, but they give you the option of not recieving every email.
